Educational needs and learning objectives
This continuing education activity is provided through a collaboration between SEl Healthcare and AffinityCE. This activity provides continuing education credit for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists. A statement of participation is available for other attendees.
Learning objectives
After completing this educational activity, learners should be able to:
- Implement strategies to assess patients with chronic cough based on current recommendations.
- Evaluate and diagnose patients with chronic cough.
- Distinguish between chronic cough, refractory chronic cough (RCC) and unexplained chronic cough (UCC).
- Outline the pathophysiology of RCC.
- Discuss pharmacologic therapies available to treat RCC and differentiate between therapies (including newer/upcoming agents) based on existing guidelines, efficacy and safety data, and approved indications.
- Recognize different treatment options for individuals with RCC and tailor treatment according to their individual needs.
- Define key management goals for individuals with RCC, particularly regarding quality of life improvement.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for HCPs who manage adolescent patients with Refractory Chronic Cough (RCC), including Allergy/Immunology, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Primary Care / Family Medicine, Pulmonology, and other allied HCPs.
